Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of LGBTDocs, available at lgbtdocs.com and its subdomains (the "Service"), operated by HYPHIA PTE. LTD. ("LGBTDocs," "we," "us," or "our"), with its registered office at 160 Robinson Road, #14-04, Singapore Business Federation Center, Singapore 068914.

Summary

By using LGBTDocs, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

We have tried to write these Terms in plain language. They are still a contract — please read them.

1. What LGBTDocs is — and isn't

LGBTDocs is a directory of LGBTQ+-friendly healthcare professionals worldwide. Users can search, browse, save listings, and contact providers directly through the contact information shown.

LGBTDocs is not:

  • A healthcare provider.
  • A medical service.
  • A medical referral service.
  • A telehealth platform.
  • An insurance product or insurance broker.
  • A licensing authority.

We do not provide medical advice, diagnoses, treatment, or prescriptions. We do not employ, supervise, license, or vouch for the medical competence of the providers listed. The directory is an information resource — what you do with the information is up to you.

2. Who can use the Service

You may use LGBTDocs if:

  • You are at least 16 years old in the EU/UK or 18 years old in most other regions, including India.
  • You can form a legally binding contract under your local law.
  • You agree to comply with these Terms and applicable laws.

If you are using LGBTDocs on behalf of an organisation, for example submitting a listing for a clinic, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

We reserve the right to refuse the Service to anyone, for any lawful reason.

3. Your account

You do not need an account to browse or search the directory. You do need an account to:

  • Save providers.
  • Submit a listing.
  • Claim an existing listing.
  • Report a listing.
  • Receive notifications.

When you create an account, you must:

  • Provide accurate, current information.
  • Keep your password secure. We recommend a unique password and 2FA where offered.
  • Notify us immediately at security@hyphias.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
  • Not share your account with anyone.

You are responsible for activity on your account, except where you have notified us of a compromise and we have had a reasonable opportunity to act.

4. How you may use the Service

You may use LGBTDocs to:

  • Search and browse the directory.
  • Read listings.
  • Contact providers directly using the information shown.
  • Save providers to your account.
  • Submit a listing of a provider you know about, subject to our submission rules.
  • Claim a listing if you are the provider.
  • Report a listing that contains inaccurate, harmful, or misleading information.

You may not:

  • Scrape or extract the directory at scale.
  • Use the directory to build a competing product.
  • Republish or redistribute the directory's content beyond fair use or fair dealing.
  • Use the directory in any way that violates a provider's privacy or legal rights.
  • Misrepresent yourself or anyone else when submitting or claiming listings.

5. Submitting and claiming listings

Submitting a listing

You can submit a healthcare provider to the directory through /submit. By submitting, you confirm:

  • The information you have provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
  • The information is publicly available, such as the provider's professional name, practice address, contact details, and public specialties.
  • You have not included private information that the provider has not publicly disclosed.
  • If you submit a provider you know personally, you do so in good faith and not maliciously.

We manually review all submissions before publishing. Submissions may be accepted as submitted, edited for accuracy or to remove information that should not be published, or rejected if the provider does not appear to exist, information seems inaccurate, or the submission appears malicious.

We do not pay submitters, and submitters acquire no rights to the listing once it is published.

Claiming a listing

If a listing about you exists in our directory, you can claim it at /claim/[your-listing]. Claiming requires:

  • An email address that matches public records, such as your practice email or institutional email.
  • Verification documents, such as a valid medical licence, business registration, or professional ID.

We aim to verify and approve claims within 5 business days.

A claimed listing means you are the recognised owner of that listing. You can edit the listing directly, add photos, hours, languages, and specialties, respond to user reports, and request removal at any time free of charge.

Provider rights for unclaimed listings

  • Free correction. Email providers@hyphias.com with corrections; we will update within 5 business days.
  • Free removal. Email providers@hyphias.com to request removal. We will remove within 7 business days unless we have a legal obligation to retain a record. There is no charge.
  • No paywall. We never charge a provider to be listed, claim a listing, edit a listing, or remove a listing.

6. User content

"User Content" means anything you submit to LGBTDocs — listings, photos, descriptions, reports, reviews, comments, and account information.

Your ownership

You retain ownership of the User Content you submit. Submitting content to LGBTDocs does not transfer ownership.

License you grant us

By submitting User Content, you grant LGBTDocs a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, copy, modify, adapt, translate, distribute, display, and perform that content solely for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the Service.

This license:

  • Lasts as long as the content is on the platform.
  • Ends when you or the rightful owner request removal, except for backups retained for a limited period as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Does not allow us to sell your content, license it to third parties for their own purposes, or use it in any way unrelated to running the Service.

Your warranties

  • You have the right to submit it.
  • It does not violate anyone else's rights, including privacy, copyright, trademark, or other rights.
  • It is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
  • It does not contain malware, illegal content, or content prohibited under Acceptable use.

We may remove User Content at any time if it violates these Terms, our Acceptable Use rules, or applicable law. We do not pre-screen all content, but we do moderate reports and listings.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to harm others, misuse the platform, attack the infrastructure, or break the law.

Harm others

  • Threaten, harass, intimidate, or stalk anyone.
  • Out anyone by disclosing someone's sexual orientation, gender identity, HIV status, or other sensitive identity without consent.
  • Submit hateful, defamatory, or discriminatory content.
  • Submit false reports about a provider in order to damage their reputation.
  • Submit listings about real people without their consent except as permitted in Submitting a listing.

Misuse the platform

  • Submit fraudulent, misleading, or deceptive listings.
  • Impersonate a provider you are not.
  • Impersonate LGBTDocs or any of our staff.
  • Manipulate ratings, reviews, or rankings.
  • Create multiple accounts to evade enforcement.

Attack the infrastructure

  • Scrape, crawl, or extract data at scale beyond what is permitted by our robots.txt and rate limits.
  • Reverse-engineer or attempt to derive source code.
  • Probe for vulnerabilities except via our responsible disclosure process.
  • Distribute malware, phishing pages, or malicious code through the Service.
  • Bypass security controls, rate limits, captcha, or App Check.

Break the law

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
  • Infringe copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights.
  • Use the Service for money laundering, terrorism financing, or sanctions evasion.
  • Use the Service in any jurisdiction where doing so would violate that jurisdiction's law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules — see Suspension and termination.

8. Healthcare disclaimer

This is important. Please read it.

LGBTDocs is an information directory. We do not:

  • Provide medical advice.
  • Diagnose conditions.
  • Recommend treatments.
  • Verify the medical competence of any provider.
  • Verify a provider's current licensure status in real time.
  • Endorse any specific provider's care.

Information on LGBTDocs is for general informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always verify a provider's current credentials and licensure with the relevant authority before relying on a listing for an appointment, prescription, or treatment.

LGBTDocs makes no representations or warranties about the quality, safety, or competence of any healthcare provider listed. A listing is not an endorsement.

If you experience harm in the course of medical care, that is a matter between you and your provider, and where appropriate, the relevant licensing or legal authority. LGBTDocs is not party to that relationship and is not liable for it.

9. Provider information accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to keep listings accurate, but:

  • Some listings are submitted by community members and may be incomplete or out of date.
  • Providers move, retire, change specialties, lose or gain licensure, and change languages — we cannot guarantee real-time accuracy.
  • Operating hours, addresses, and contact details may have changed since a listing was last updated.
  • A provider's LGBTQ+-friendly status is based on the provider's self-description, public statements, or community reports — it is not a certification.

Always verify directly with the provider before relying on a listing for an appointment, prescription, or treatment.

If you find inaccurate information, please report it via the "Report" link on the listing or email support@hyphias.com.

10. Intellectual property

Your content

You own your content. See the User content section.

Third-party content

Listings include information about real healthcare providers and the names of real institutions. Trademarks and trade names appearing in listings belong to their respective owners. Mention does not imply endorsement.

Open-source software

Parts of LGBTDocs are built using open-source software. Their licenses apply to those components and are listed at https://hyphias.com/open-source.

11. Reporting and takedowns

Copyright/DMCA

If you believe content on LGBTDocs infringes your copyright, please send a notice to dmca@hyphias.com with the information required by the DMCA or your local equivalent.

To report defamation, privacy violations, or other illegal or harmful content, please use the report tool on the listing or email abuse@hyphias.com.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account or your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if:

  • You violate these Terms.
  • Your use of the Service creates a legal or security risk for us or others.
  • We are required to do so by law.
  • We stop providing the Service.

You can delete your account at any time at https://hyphias.com/delete-account. Deletion is permanent.
